Providing a seamless and intuitive experience, Control4’s latest operating system OS 3 brings all your favourite devices together so that you can control them all from one place.
The system and user interface is modular, meaning it can adapt to each home irrespective of the number of rooms and elements integrated. This enables flexibility, allowing you to control as much or as little as you like, with control available across a centralised mobile app, in-home keypads, touchscreen, remotes and voice control.
How Does Control4 Work?
It begins with the consolidation of most control devices — for instance, TV set-top boxes, into a central location: the rack. The system is wired up, connecting each device to a control module powered by Control4 which orchestrates and “talks” to all smart home devices. The system communicates with the rest of the home via a high-speed Cat 6 data cable. Wireless options are also available for older homes or in the case of refurbishment.
After a decade of designing smart homes, we have both the expertise and experience to help you bring your project to life. Each rack is custom made to support the devices it houses and is assembled at our Kings Langley workshop before being transported to the site to be installed & commissioned by our certified install team.
Rack Size – The footprint (width and depth) are generally always the same. The standard width would be 600mm x 800mm. The height will vary depending on how much equipment is required for your installation. In some larger installations, it is possible to have 2 racks but we will discuss and advise you on your requirements. In addition, some space will be required for ventilation, no less than 50mm on each side.
What is Control4 compatible with?
In addition to its own products and services, Control4 supports more than 13,500 third-party products so the chances are anything you need to integrate can be.
Key integration partners include Amazon Alexa-enabled speaker devices, the Google Nest smart home thermostat, streaming services like Spotify and Netflix, Sonos music system, Apple TV, and products from Sony, Sub-Zero, Roku, LG, Samsung, Bose, Denon, Honeywell, Yale, and Lutron, plus many more.
