This stunning property, with its striking metal, wood, brick and glass features was really brought to life after some in-depth lighting, security and entertainment strategies were put into action.

Door Entry and Security
Entering the property from a lift into the main space meant that a door entry system was a must. The client already had a solution that we were able to access and improve upon, offering him the ability to now view and communicate with visitors from the touch screens or his mobile phone. The front door can now be unlocked for deliveries and family alike with this solution.
Patio doors were part of the chosen KNX solution and this allowed control from the keypads and touchscreens. Audio Visual
With an entire wall of glazing and stunning views, there was little place to have a TV. We installed a PURE theatre projector lift and a 97” JVC motorised projector screen that provides a home cinema style experience when required and maintains the elegance of the property when not in use.
5.1 surround sound was achieved using Triad speakers and an in-ceiling subwoofer.
There are now 5 zones of audio throughout, and a TV in the upstairs study that we also integrated into the Control 4 system.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”4225″ img_size=”full”][vc_single_image image=”4226″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]
Lighting Control
Carefully designed layers of lighting were introduced into the space and were a fundamental part of the overall aesthetic, highlighting the metal, wood, brick, and glass within the property.
A KNX based solution was chosen to provide scene control for DALI, Mains Dimmable and Switched lighting circuits. The possibility of integrating more than mains dimmable allowed for more fixtures and better smoother control options.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”4227″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]DALI lighting control can dim down to 0.1% and dimming can be achieved on a linear curve from 0-100%. This was applied to spots, tracks, LED strips and the feature lighting above the dining table. Mains dimmable circuits were applied to decorative lighting, 5amp circuits, and the kitchen pendant lights. Switched lighting was used on circuits that dim but just required an on/off function.
A combination of Basalte keypads were used for control, as well as the Control 4 touch screens and Alexa voice control. A KNX Deseo keypad was used in the main living areas as it had a display and offered more functionality including a thermostat. This eliminated the need to have a thermostat control on the wall as well.
A Sentido keypad was used in the main hallway that led from the lift to the main space. Beautifully designed with vertical slits of linear lighting guiding the staircase, the Sentido complimented the effect and look and feel of this area.
A Control 4 in-wall touchscreen was also installed for easy access to all functionality.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”4228″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]
Shading
5 individually controlled sets of exterior louvre shutters were installed and connected to the KNX solution. This allowed automation against the astronomical clock so that the shutters opened and closed at sunrise/sunset or any other pre-defined parameter. Should too much heat or sunlight enter the home then the shutters would also automatically close.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”4240″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]
Climate Control
Underfloor heating was controlled as part of the KNX system.
