This stunning architecturally designed home in Surrey, was built by a property developer for his own family, so the brief for him was a little more personal. A very clear vision for a contemporary feel that integrated smart home automation while blending into the surroundings.
The ease of flow through the space was beautifully designed with natural daylight flooding the property.
After a meeting with the client at our showroom at Sky House Design Centre, we worked closely with the entire build team to understand the brief and design a smart home solution that was both sensitive to the building and offered a seamless living experience.
Entering the property through automated gates, communication from visitors is from a Control4 intercom. This is received internally via the touchscreens and mobile devices.

Special features such as a privacy window that appeared to be a picture frame was controlled to reveal a viewing window into the client’s garage.
A walk-in wine cellar that appeared from behind a solid door and lit up when opened.

With so much daylight flooding the house, lighting at nighttime made the property come alive in a different way. Layers of lighting, dimmed and programmed to come on at different times throughout the evening created warmth and atmosphere. Additional control of changing coloured LEDS could be controlled from the touchscreens.
The starlit stretched canvas over the pool added another depth of magic with colour changing lights to create the perfect mood.
The Basement Cinema is a much-used space for the whole family with plenty of children’s movie parties and adult sporting events viewed both from the comfort of the 6 seater design or from the bar at the back which created further use for the room.
